8th inning, the Tigers scored 2 runs with three
hits, one walk and one error and still had chance
of bases loaded with one out. But both Maas and
 PH Hoshino grounded out]

	WP: Nishiguchi	(10W 5L 1S)
	LP: Yoshitake	(3W 8L)

[Nishiguchi shut the Hawks out. Jackson got a game-ending
cluch hit in the 9th inning. I hear interesting news:
Higashio promised Nishiguchi that he gives Nishiguchi one
million yen if Nishiguchi would win 10, besides, he also
gives one million yen for each win over 10. So if Nishiguchi
would win 20, then Nishiguchi would get 19 millions yen.
The promise was made on a party, so I don't know if Nishiguchi
gets all money, but it seems to me that he can get at least
 first one million yen]

In the 7th, Craig and Hiratsuka got a RBI
hit. Yamamoto of the Dragons was credited
with new Central League record of the most
wild pitches in a inning (3 WP in a inning).
FYI, there are four pitchers in PL who ever
pitched 3 WP in a inning.

the base (maybe he didn't expect that Ochiai threw
to him) and the Tigers scored another run.
     Tamura won since 1994]

[Hatsushiba got a game-winning homerun in the 9th.
Lion manager Higashio had Nishiguchi start. He

would be ejected. And Morita pitched near the
head of Nishi in the same inning, so he was ejected
at once. In the 7th inning, Igarashi hit Yoshihara
with the head: all the players and coaches of both

All Star Game 1 at Fukuoka Dome All Central | 0 0 0 0 0 3 0 0 1 | 4 All Pacific | 3 0 0 0 0 4 0 0 X | 7 MVP: Yamamoto(Buffaloes) In the top of the first inning, Hillman seemed to overstrain himself so the count became 3-0 againt Matsui. But Matsui didn't like to walk :-) and hit the next ball, which became a fly to left field. In the bottom of the same inning, Ichiro hit the first pitch of Kitoh to get a homerun. Brito also got a homerun in the first inning. Following Brito, Akiyama tripled, but if the wall were 10cm shorter, then it would be another homerun. In the top of the 6th, the All Central tied the game with doubles of Ochiai and O'Malley. But in the bottom of the same inning, Yabu, who pitched well in the previous two innings, suddenly allowed hits and the All Pacific went ahead with a clutch hit of Hatsushiba. Just after it, PH Yamamoto hit a 3-run homerun and the game was almost finished. MVP: Kiyohara(L)

Both starters, Irabu and Saitoh, were very good.
They became the 13th and 14th pitcher who didn't allow
any runners in three innings. In the top of 5th, the
AC got five hits in a row against Hoshino. In the bottom
of the same inning, Yamabe allowed 2 walks and 2 runs.
In the bottom of the 6th, Galvez pitched bad. He
gave up one walk, one single and one hit-batter so the
AP had chance of bases loaded with no outs when Kiyohara
appeared. Kiyohara doubled to left-center field and
turned the game.
In the top of the 9th, with bases empty and two outs,
the batter was Matsui when AP Manager Ohgi changed pitcher
from Nishizaki to RF Ichiro. Almost all spectators welcomed
pitcher Ichiro, but AC manager Nomura hates such silly atraction
so he sent Swallow pitcher Takatsu as PH for Matsui. Ichiro
was a pitcher when he was a high school, about five years ago,
and practiced in bullpen in the bottom of the 8th. His fastball
has 140-145 KM/H speed, and his control seemed not bad.
Anyway, Takatsu grounded out on the count 2-2 and the game was over.
After the game, there are hot argument whether pitcher Ichiro
is good or bad.

All Star Game 3 at Toyama(Turf)

All Pacific | 1 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 | 2
All Central | 0 3 0 0 0 0 1 0 X | 4

Wind:right to left
Weather: fine, hot

MVP: Kanemoto

The All Central won at last.
In the top of first, Ichiro singled and advanced
to second when Muramatsu grounded out on the count 3-2.
After two outs, Kiyohara doubled to left-center field
and Ichiro scored.
In the bottom of the second inning, two men on,
Kanemoto got a 3-run homer to center field, which
led not only the CL to win but also him to MVP.
After the game, AC manager Nomura said that Carp manager
Mimura was very happy with the homerun.
In the top of the 6th inning, Hatsushiba and Hori
got a hit after two outs and the PL had chance of runners
on second and third with two outs. Tanaka hit a fly to
right field, and Matsui dashed and made a shoe-string catch...
but it seemed to me that the batted ball was caught after
it hopped. Anyway the umpire called it out so no run was
scored.
In the bottom of the 7th, Matsui got a RBI with a bloop
hit, and he became one of the variable players (not MVP).
In the 8th and 9th, two excellent Central closers,
Sasaki and Sasaoka, got three strike outs and didn't allow
the PL to come back.

[The Dragons lost with a silly triple play
in the top of the 9th inning. In this inning,
the Draongs had chance of bases loaded with
no outs. Torigoe grounded to second baseman,
and 2B got it to send it to SS. One out. SS
sent the ball to third to get second runner tag
out, which confused second runner and third runner.
Somehow the third runner, who stopped at third,
started suddenly to home plate and he was killed
with rundown play. Two outs. Besides, second runner,
who almost reached to third, ran back to second in
this rundown play so he was also killed on another
rundown play and the game was over]
